CIESCO Girls Home (Yatimkhana) is a project established by CIESCO in 1977 based on the decision to take care of the orphaned and destitute girls who are in need of no one in the society. CPM Moideen Koya who retired as Joint Director of Social Welfare Department in 1977 was inspired to start the Girls Home. In 1977, the Girls’ Home (Yatheemkhana) was inaugurated by the Minister of Local Self-Government, Janab Avukadar Kutti Naha. The first chairman of the Girls Home (Yatheemkhana) Committee was K.V. Abdul Qader Barami and SM Bashiruddin were the secretary.
In the period 2020-2021, as per the orders of the DCPU & CWC departments of the Central Government, the operation of CIESCO Girls Home (Yatheemkhana), which had been running well for 40 years, had to be stopped due to the difficulty in implementing some rules of the Central Government. However, in January 2022, Yatheemcare project was launched to protect orphans and 36 children are being cared for in the comfort of their homes. Their religious and physical education. Necessary things like clothing, house construction, house repair, mental health etc. are being done through Yatheemcare project.
